trip to new zealand in the 1850

You are sadly living in London in 1850 and the pollution is bad that if hard to breath when you go outside and one when you see a poster advertising a country that you have never heard of called New Zealand and it dawns on you that it says its promising a new start to life and new jobs.so you go home after a long day of work and you think about it and then you yawn and fall asleep .you wake up to water dripping on your face and you realise that your bed and pillow are damp from the roof leaking and you have had an idea you have just made a decision that's going to change your life whether good or bad you are going to move to New Zealand you have no other reasons to stay as all of your relatives died in a horrible fire when you were young. So by the next day, you have packed up all of you belongings and take a boat to New Zealand.

You make it to your half of the bunk bed and you dump your luggage on your bed and a crew member comes in to give everyone supplies like blankets and water and food for the day and he said he will return to give more tomorrow you lay on your bed and you hear rain up on the decks floors and you fall asleep to the sound of the rain .you wake up and you feel the boat moving and the air seems a bit stale and you decide to go near the window and you look out but all you see is dark clouds and a bit of land and you ask one of the crew members walking past where are we right now and he says we are along the coast of France .you go back to your cabin and you lay there and you think to yourself that this is rather boring you pull out a pack of cards and go play cards by yourself and you find it rather boring to you stop playing cards. You go to bed as it is getting dark outside and you start to write a diary of your trip.

Day 2 the trip was rather windy and cold and the sea was not forgiving.

Day 22 the weather has gotten a lot hotter and we are at the bottom of the South Africa day

Day 50 you have been told that we are a lot closer to New Zealand and that we are near Australia

Day 60 you are off the coast of Australia and the weather is really hot at you spotted a shark out the window day 65 you are really close to New Zealand and you reckon that a couple of days and you will be in New Zealand day 70 you can see the coast of New Zealand and the weather is temperate. You have just been told that we are in New Zealand an in 20 minutes we will be on the docks and leaving the boat you leave the boat to start a new life the end.

home economics blog post

in home economics, we learnt about Japan and how they present and prepare  their food

something I have learnt about Japan was that the sushi used to be old fermented fish instead of new and fresh fish it has changed from technology becoming more advanced likes freezers and fridges

like in Japan when they present their food they have it fresh and it is healthy and everything has to look neat and nice for them to present the food while in New Zealand we just preserve our foods with freezers and then heat them up and eat them later

what rice do they use in sushi

why do people use rice compare to other countries

what other rices can they use with there dishes

tomorrow when the war began daunte and jaden's story

WRITING - Chris fell asleep on sentry duty. Rewrite an ending to this event where the teenagers are found by the invaders. Whose point of view are you writing from? What happens? How do they react/feel?

this is just a draft and not a proper story so that's why the punctuation is not that good

Jaden's side

Chapter One

Me and my friends found these kids just sleeping in the open like it was 2 weeks ago and we thought why not go over and say hello to them and offer them some tea and cookies like we do with everyone else, so we start to go over there then we see some people running over there to take their stuff and worse. Then they all wake up and grab guns and run away from us because the people trying to take their stuff and we chase and kill the raiders to help the kids and take them back to the campsites with everyone else. But once we killed the raiders the kids were nowhere to be seen. A bit later we founded the kids then we looked away from the group to get the tea and cookies out and they had ……..

daunte's side
Chapter two

tried to escape by shooting at us so we kinda shot back they had bolt action rifles and we had fully automatic rifles so it was an unfair fight, to begin with, we stop shooting at them after we had hit one of them by what looked like the back of the head.

when they saw that they started to charge at us screaming a rather rude word and then we started to fire again I loaded a whole mag into a male and he still kept coming at us and once we saw him hit the ground the bandits began to scream homer and they ran for a truck and what seemed to be a woman standing on the back of a truck with a rocket launcher and with a blink of an eye my whole squad had been taken out I manage to get a few shots on the woman and she crumbled under the weight of the rocket launcher and hit the ground with a thud at that moment I realised I was the last one left out of my squad able to fight then I was grabbed by the back of my neck and I was being strangled so I turned and hit a girl and she screamed with pain and then I felt an ear piercing sound and at that moment i had just realised I had been shot.i fell to the ground on my knees in pain I managed to look at my attacker and I thought this is it im going to die from a teenager and then I heard another bang and the boy hit the ground and fell silite and didn't move then I look from where the gunshot came from my team mate we both were on the ground but he was less ingerd than me. he got up and helped me up to my feet and he said that the others ran away and he said that the other patrol will take care of them he said that they dropped their guns and ran after we killed that girl on the truck he looked over to where the girl was on the ground crying he told me what happened to her I said that I hit here in the face and he said we will take her back and integrate her and offer her tea and cookies and he said and for you need a doctor I will call for backup he said.and after a few minutes later a truck arrived to pick up my squad well what was left of my squad.for me though I was airlifted to the hospital.

wood tec finishing the beer crate

today in wood tec I finished my beer crate here are the photos
what I reckon I could have done better was put a divider between the beer so they don't move around as much

reflection:
it was a fun project to do but it was a bit tricky with drilling the holes where the dowl goes because I made a mistake when I drilled it. so  i had to improvise and drill another small hole and then mix sawdust and glue and fill in the gaps

metal work lathe introduction

today in metal we have been introduced to the lathe here is an image and a diagram of the lathe here's a video of how to work a lathe
A lathe is a tool that rotates the workpiece about an axis of rotation to perform various operations such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, deformation, facing, and turning, with tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object with symmetry about that axis.

tomorrow when the war began chapter 12

“They say teenagers can sleep all day”. Is this true? Do you agree? Does Ellie still see herself as a typical teenager?no

Ellie’s dream at the beginning of the chapter is rather nonsensical, as dreams are wont to be. Is there any meaning to it? Try and explain what Ellie’s subconscious could be thinking about: why is her dad cooking for the whole town? Why did Father Cronin ignore Ellie’s greeting? Why was Corrie 8 years old again? Why were they sailing off on a boat? Why was Lee undressing? because Ellie is weird and does some stuffed up stuff when she sleeps

Why is it so terrible that Chris falls asleep while on sentry duty? How does Ellie react? Why do you think she reacts this way? How does she feel about her reaction later? because some soldiers could have killed them in there sleep

Back in Hell, Ellie’s dreams are far more ominous. Explain why Ellie is dreaming of her fears. because she is having a nightmare

tomorow when the war began chapter 11

How does Ellie feel as she is waiting in the truck at the Council Depot? Where do her emotions come from? she had the shivers and cold and fear and she got it from her love for her friends

Why are the girls smiling when in danger? Is this a logical response? because there nervous

What does wearing a helmet and buckling up mean to the girls? safety

What does Chris’s story say about the town? that they got invaded

What impact does the BMW have on the story? Does Chris seem lonely? Explain your answer? because he finds the BMW and goes up the dam from where the BMW came from and finds Ellie and other people

What is Homer’s explanation for the need to swap cars at Chris Lang’s place? What does this show about the way he is thinking?
because he thinks that the soldiers will find the car and try and connect the dots together and think that there's a connection

What are your thoughts on the story so far...um kinda boring

migration work

our powtoons video
in social studies, we studied migration and we made a video
Migration - the movement of people to a new area or country in order to find work or better living conditions.

Push Factor - Push factors come in many forms. Sometimes these factors leave people with no choice but to leave their country of origin

Pull Factor - Whereas push factors drive migrants out of their countries of origin, pull factors are responsible for dictating where these travellers end up. The positive aspects of some countries serve to attract more immigrants than others.

Cultural - Cultural Factors have to do within a person’s beliefs, moral values, traditions, language, and rules of behaviour that are followed by a certain group of people. This also has to do with cultural beliefs, gender roles, and customs

Economic - An Economic Factor is the information that affects a business or its investment’s value.

Social - Social push factors include a lack of social mobility and job restrictions. For example, in the 1800's, Italians were restricted by social class. If you were born a peasant, you would always remain a peasant. No matter how hard you worked, there was no way to move up the social ladder. As a result, many Italians began to immigrate to the U.S.

Political - Political factors that drive people from their mother country include persecution and government restrictions on citizens. The Jews were persecuted for many years in Europe, especially during World War II. Many decided to leave and find new homes in the U.S

Environment - People migrate due to environmental reasons, pulled towards physically attractive areas and pushed from hazardous zones. In the process of immigrants trying to migrate they may face intervening obstacles
